Barbara Lorbach

“My hope is that God will reach through the music to a place in your soul where you will know without any doubt or fear that you are God’s beloved creation.”

Ken Medema

In 1985 Ken Medema launched Brier Patch Music, a small independent recording, publishing, and performance-booking company named after Brer Rabbit's home in the legendary Uncle Remus stories.

Though blind from birth, Ken has demonstrated his extraordinary musical vision to a growing number of loyal fans across the nation and around the world. Invariably, his audiences reward Ken's final encore with enthusiastic applause and standing ovations.

"The arrangements are tasty and the listening is delightful.  Barbara’s lovely, comforting voice is a calming and soothing listening experience."

How Can I Keep From Singing?

Pastor Barbara has released an album entitled How Can I Keep From Singing?  The album features hymns, spiritual songs and three songs by the producer and arranger of the album, Ken Medema.  These selections are songs that reflect Barbara’s understanding of God and are expressions of her faith.  Ken’s work in arranging, composing and producing the album adds to the beauty and meaning of the music Barbara shares vocally.

St. John UCC supports Barbara in this endeavor and a portion of the proceeds will be used to support outreach ministries and missions of St. John UCC.  Barbara continues to minister through song at many religious and civic gatherings.
